Say it ain’t so? The word coming straight from The Las Vegas Strip is Wacko Jacko is considering offers to do a regular stage show in Sin City.
Wacko Jacko May Indeed Get Vegas ShowSay it ain’t so? The word coming straight from The Las Vegas Strip is Wacko Jacko is considering offers to do a regular stage show in Sin City. Though rumors have been swirling for several weeks now that Michael Jackson was searching for a home base, things have picked recently since the self proclaimed King of Pop has moved to Las Vegas and is now evaluating multiple offers. A statement released by Jackson spokesperson Raymone Bain confirmed the dethroned star is currently in talks with multiple casino resorts. According to him, he is claiming Jackson has gotten several unsolicited offers from some of the top casinos in town. GamblingCentral.com is somewhat skeptical of the deal itself as Jackson has slipped from pop icon to freaky sideshow during the last few years as bad plastic surgery and a court trial where he was on charges of child molestation have made him persona non grata to many Americans. And if he is to charge what other music stars charge, we’re talking the neighborhood of $100 or more for a ticket. We sense that whatever deal is cut, the majority of tickets will probably be given away to high rollers and casino guests for free or sharply discounted from face-value. Currently rock stars such as Prince and Elton John and regularly selling out shows in town, capitalizing on a market where top notch entertainment rules. The classic topless Vegas showgirl has been pushed aside in favor of ‘A’ list talent and Cirque du Soleil. Las Vegas has truly emerged as the capital of entertainment in the world and a move to the Las Vegas market does make sense from Jackson’s point of view. He would not have to mount an expensive touring crew and would have a somewhat regular lifestyle. Just yesterday, Jackson’s spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain said in a statement: "Mr. Jackson has been presented numerous proposals -- proposals which he has not solicited, but were presented to him, several of which include performing in Las Vegas. Mr. Jackson is currently reviewing and evaluating each proposal. He does not believe that he is under any time constraint for making his decisions," she said. While the press has been speculating that Jackson moved to Vegas specifically to shop a show, his camp is denying that take. Instead, his team insists it’s to work on a new album and Las Vegas is an easily accessible location for “the artists, songwriters and producers who are working with him in the studio." Most notably, Jackson has been working on new material with Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am. Jackson has been living overseas for the better part of two years since he was acquitted on the child molestation charges and it was not expected he would ever return to the states. Rumors also said that Jackson would try to make a triumphant return to American soil on the popular U.S. show American Idol which cleans up in the ratings every time it airs. Bain said that is not the case and he would not be appearing on the program. Most recently Prince set up shop at the Rio where he is playing on Friday or Saturday Nights at his own club, 3131. For fans it’s a great opportunity to see the renowned performer in a small venue which holds just 1,500 people. He also hosts a show on Wednesday nights where his pals play. © Copyright 2007 Gambling Central's material. It may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed. |
